Awareness Scoping
🔐 Scoping for Invitations and Security Alerts
Setting Up Scoping
Before configuring which emails to send or how often to send them, you must define the scope of devices and users who will receive onboarding invites or security alerts.
This interface allows you to configure which devices and users will be included in automated or manual notifications based on specific filtering rules.
🛠 Scoping Options
You can fine-tune the scope by selecting any combination of the following:
-
Managed Devices
When unchecked, managed devices (typically controlled by your IT team) are excluded from notifications and invitations.
-
Desktop Devices
When checked, desktop devices will be included in the scope.
-
Mobile Devices
When checked, mobile devices will be included in the scope.
-
Filter by Groups
-
Allows you to target specific user groups (e.g., synced from Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, or Okta).
-
You can select one or more groups to narrow the scope to specific teams or departments.
-
If your organization has completed a directory integration, group filters help you scope alerts to only the most relevant users.
Configuring Email Reminders
Once scoping is complete, you can proceed to configure:
- Email Types: Choose the types of emails to send to your team (e.g., verification requests).
- Frequency: Define how often these emails should be sent (e.g., daily, weekly).
Additional Information
- Changes to scoping settings will take effect immediately.
- For assistance with discovery configuration, refer to the Discovery Setup Guide.
By effectively configuring the Awareness feature, you can boost your organization's security posture and maintain vigilance across all teams.
